A reprint of this family history book full of historical gems about Richard & Catherine Weismantel's migration from Germany in 1852 with some grape vine cuttings and little more than the clothes on their backs. With a frugal lifestyle and some hard work, they were able in 1863 to buy their first 47 acres at Johnsons Creek and with true pioneering spirit carved farms  and family homes from the bush and established vineyards. From nine children born into their family at the time of the release of this book in 1986 there were over 2200 descendants!
